One of the centerpiece shows at Disney’s Animal Kingdom just received an upgrade with the debut of ‘Rivers of Light: We Are One’. The new version enhances the already colorful and visually beautiful show that is held nightly in the Discovery River Amphitheater. The 17 minute show debuted this weekend.
“Rivers of Light: We Are One” introduces additional, stunning imagery and familiar animal characters from Disneynature films, along with a colorful tapestry of classic moments from Disney animation, to express our connection with animals and the emotions and milestones we all share in our journey through the great circle of life. ‘Rivers of Light’ has received mixed reviews since day one. It was originally set to open in late April 2016 but was delayed 10 months due to technical and show element issues. At one point the story of the show featured live performers but were later taken out. There is no question it is a beautiful show but it always seemed to be missing something. Early reviews seem to be leaning towards an improvement in guest enjoyment.
