Steven Miller, Communications Manager, shared some awesome new Toy Story Land merchandise coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios just in time for the grand opening. The merchandise includes land specific clothing, pins, mugs, bags and so much more!
We also learned that there will be two Toy Story themed merchandise retail stands in the land featuring some of this merchandise. A land specific merchandise “brick and mortar” shop was never included in any announcements or the concept art so there was a lot of questions as to where most of the merchandise would end up. Back in April the candy and merchandise shop on Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Sunset (Sweet Spells), closed for refurbishment. It was announced that the shop would re-open and feature merchandise from Toy Story and Toy Story Land. It was speculated that this would be THE place to buy all the merchandise from the land. Were the merchandise retail stands always in the plan or did the imagineers simply did not want any “brick and mortar” stores in Toy Story Land to take away the immersion and feel? Hopefully, the retail stands will blend in beautifully and give guests the option to purchase merchandise within the boundaries of the land.
Like roles in a play, product designers cast merchandise to extend the story of Toy Story Land, explained Brad Schoeneberg, director, Merchandise Strategy and New Park Experiences Development. “Merchandise that is true to the story ties everything together,” he said. “Each piece was designed so parents and kids could take their memories home and relive the fun of Toy Story Land long after their Disney vacation.”

You will be able to purchase this merchandise select shops at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including Beverly Sunset on Sunset Boulevard, In Character, Mickey’s of Hollywood and at the merchandise carts in Toys Story Land proper.
