All Table Service Restaurants in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Now Serving Alcohol

Disney announced today that a brand new menu is coming to The Diamond Horseshoe on May 23, 2018 and we noticed the details included a selection of beer and wine.  This addition of alcohol to the menu of Frontierland’s table service restaurant means that every table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom now serve adult beverages.  What was once taboo in Magic Kingdom park is now the norm.

It’s not a secret that Walt Disney didn’t necessarily want alcohol in his park.  He believed that a family friendly environment should not include or need alcohol unlike typical “amusement parks” of that time.  These wishes were maintained in Disneyland with the exception of Club 33 and were passed down to Magic Kingdom park in Walt Disney World.  This changed in 2012, to the dismay of Disney purists, when Be Our Guest Restaurant began serving beer and wine.  Then came Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper CanteenTony’s Town Square, Liberty Tree Tavern and Cinderella’s Royal Table in 2016 with their cocktail menus.  What seemed to be inevitable, 2018 has seen The Crystal Palace, The Plaza Restaurant and now The Diamond Horseshoe add alcoholic beverages to the menu, marking an end of an era that started to fall back in 2012.

Alcohol will continue to not be available outside the table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom.
