The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail is an exotic animal filled walking trail located next to Kilimanjaro Safaris in the Africa area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  The trail is a shade under a half a mile filled with rich vegetation and some amazing animal viewing areas such as the gorilla hillside, the hippo tank and the aviary.  The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail debut on April 22, 1998 as the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and changed to its current name later that same year.  You can find such animals as the tarantula, yellow-backed duiker, shield-tailed agama, black-and-white colobus monkeys, naked mole rats, hippos, gerenuk meerkats, western lowland gorilla and many more.  The aviary is a true up close look at some amazing birds including the African grey parrot, emerald starling, pygmy goose, snowy-crowned robin-chat and others.  We highly recommend taking a walk on this self guided tour of the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.
