Kilimanjaro Safaris is located in the Africa area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and debut on April 22, 1998.  Kilimanjaro Safaris is as close as you will get to going on a real African safari without actually traveling to Africa.  This 20 minute real to life attraction will make you feel as if you are on an adventure of a lifetime through an actual African savanna. You will travel the 100 acre savanna aboard an open air safari truck with the driver serving as your tour guide educating you on the many exotic animals you will encounter on your trip through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.  Along the way you will see many of the over 30 species of animals that wander the savanna including black rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles, elephants, flamingos, zebras, giraffes, hippos and many more.  Don’t be surprised if you have to wait until a parade of elephants or a tower of giraffes cross the road until you can continue your journey.  FastPass+ is available for Kilimanjaro Safaris and is recommended.
